U.K.
Evening all (well it is in the U.K.). A while ago, managed to get my hands on a A1138. It came as a non-working spares/repairs paper weight. After cracking it open, adding a HDD, plugging in cables where they were supposed to be and replacing a lot of missing screws, it started up fine and continues to do just nicely thank-you. There's just one thing which bothers me. Normally, when you hit power, the DVD starts up along with the display and we get the apple logo. On this PB, you hit power, the sleep light comes on Nd a few seconds later the DVD and display join in. I've had probably close to 10 PBs over the years and I've never seen this before. Any ideas?

This is correct behaviour. With the DLSDs (Dual Layer Super Drive) Apple changed the way the sleep light works on boot.

The fact that the light comes on at boot is supposed to tell you that the Mac has been turned on and booting.

Ok - that makes sense, thanks!
