iPhone 12 Pro Strange camera issue with iPhone 12 Pro yesterday....!?

Went to the beach with the family yesterday. (bloody freezing!!)

Tried to open camera app from home screen by the usual way of swiping right, only to be opened with a black screen!?
So swiped again and unlocked the phone via FaceID. Then opened camera app by the icon.

The first picture I took came out like this! (Camera was in Portrait Mode).

Is my camera faulty perhaps!?
Or a software glitch?

Strangely, when I export the photo from Photos album on my MacBook, it appears to look "normal"!
What's going on?

Wow creative shot - I'd say it's a software glitch. Unless you are able to recreate the error again in other shots. And weird that the shot looks normal when you export it to Photos.

I've seen this kind of thing a couple of times over last few years. Never seemed to be a persistent problem though, so never really got an understanding of what caused it.

Like @larzy, I would say it's most likely software-related, unless it can be reproduced on multiple photographs.
