Strange Characters in Descpription Field

I recently switched hard drives and reimported some movies/tv shows into itunes. I noticed on many of the files, the description on my Apple TV was showing up with strange looking characters instead of normal letters. Has anyone else had this issue? If i look in the file itself (using get info), I don't see these characters.
