I just bought a 2nd iPhone (4GB model) and am having a strange issue. If I put it on the charging dock, all is well and the phone will charge; but as soon as I take it off, the charge indicator remains set to "ON" and if I re-dock, it will not charge. I have to power the phone off and on to be able to charge again.

Has anyone else experience this issue? What happens if a 4GB phone needs to be replaced now that they are sold out? Thanks.

I called Apple support today and the rep said this was the first they had heard of this issue.

When I asked what would happen if they needed to replace the unit now that the 4GB models are sold out, they said they would send me an 8GB replacement if necessary. Not too shabby...
