Hello.

I had an external keyboard i used to use with my macbook pro. It frustrated me because the 'up arrow key' and 'right hand shift key' didn't work.

So i bought new one, and it worked fine. Yesterday the very same problem started again, with those same 2 keys. Is this a bizzare coincidence or does anyone know how to fix this? (the left hand shift key still works)

it's a usb keyboard (not wireless) and i'm running snow leopard on Mac OS X 10.6.8

Thanks :)

Is it an Apple branded keyboard?
If so it should work just fine, if its not Apple branded the OS should usually prompt to press specific keys on the keyboard to recognize the specific keys.

I would look into Keyboard Preferences in system preferences and see if anything is out of the ordinary for the USB keyboard.

Check software update for any specific updates.
