I had a strange crash today. Everything seems ok but i'm still curious for an explanation.
I have a TiBook 1Ghz with 10.2.8. I closed the lid, moved it over near my TV, plugged in the SVideo to RCA adapter, then plugged that into my VCR.
When I opened the lid... zap!! Instantly it fully crashed and shutdown.
I;ve seen this sort of behaviour in PCs when a video driver was clashing or when RAM was dodgy.
The strangest thing though was it also reset the date to 1/1/1970.
There have been no other apparent problems and it's been running fine since i reset the date and rebooted.
- Is there any explanation for what happened?
- Does OSX have something built in that resets the date (and what else?!!) on certain crashes?
thanks
PS If this was a PC it would still be crashing and I'd be tearing my hair out - oh and it would have scrambled one of the programs that was open at the time of the first crash.
