A weird thing just happened in Snow Leopard -- twice in a row, the exact same way. I was using Photoshop CS (through Rosetta). I scanned an image, then went to print it as a PDF file. I filled in the title and author fields, and as I moved to the subject field I was suddenly greeted with a blue screen (of death?) and immediately after, the OS X log-in screen.
I logged back in and repeated the procedure, and right when I got to the subject field -- blue screen then log-in. Very strange....
Edit: This appears to be a fairly common problem when running Rosetta. I just found this on Apple's forums:

There's some speculation that some PPC apps running in Rosetta are causing the WindowServer process to crash, resulting in a forced logout.
You can check whether an app is running in Rosetta if it shows Power PC in the "Kind" column of Activity Monitor (in your Applications/Utilities folder).
If the WindowServer process is crashing, it should have either Crash Logs or Diagnostic Reports in the sidebar of the Console app (same place; click Show Log List in the toolbar.)
