I know how transparency works in graphic design, but I just noticed the hidden corners on the rounded windows. Strange that I just noticed this after using OS X since it first came out.

It's happened to me before. I posted a similar screenshot of the edges. I no longer get it, and I wouldn't know where to start in isolating the problem.

I had a feeling that it wasn't always like this.

I tried to take a screenshot on mine to see that, but I don't see it, even zoomed up really close, I don't see those corners like in your image. All I see is a rounded corner

Hmm, that's really weird. The only time my corners look square is when I use expose. Otherwise it looks nice and rounded, just the way it's supposed to. I wonder why that is happening...

What graphics card do you have? And are you using 32bit color?

I have the same thing, but only on my old G3 PowerBook and only since I changed to Tiger. I never had it under the other OS X's. Oh well.

yes, a 32 bit color. I have the first gen. 15" SD iMac g4.

I tried taking it to different resolutions and color bits, but still I cannot see those corners. I'm wondering if something just wasn't there that was transparent like that or that.

iTunes Corners???

On my iBook G4 the corners overlay perfectly; they don't show the ghosted corner at all. BUT -- while were on the subject -- didja ever notice the corners in iTunes 6 are a lot "sharper" than in all the other Mac software? Safari, Mail, etc all have nice soft rounded corners, but iTunes is much sharper (a "reduced radius" would be the technical term...) This bugs the hell out of me! What's up with this???

how random! i would definatly say somthing is wrong there! i am going to be looking for it now!

I don't see this artifact either. It could be something weird with your videocard. I hear that strange artifacts like this can be manifested when the card overheats.

10.4.3 did not fix it on my G3. This thing is new to Tiger! It was never there before. I have had all OS's since OS9 on that G3 and have never seen it before.
