On my MacBook Air, I have got this strange looking green icon. Right and Left clicks do nothing. Anyone know what it is and how I would get rid of it? I attach a zoomed picture. I have a virus checker installed and it hasn't located an issue. Please advise?

Don't recognize it. Try looking in your Applications and Applications > Utilities folders for a matching icon.
Download and run EtreCheck. Post the log that it creates here. That MIGHT help you with a clue to your startup software.
Can you Command-click on that icon, and possibly move it, either to a different position, or drag it OFF the menu bar (where it would disappear in a 'puff')
