Ok, so here's what's going on...
I'm trying to set up itunes home sharing between my laptop and new HTPC, both running 10.6.2. For some reason, my laptop has no problem detecting the HTPC's itunes library as part of its "home sharing" family, the HTPC doesn't see the laptop at all.
I have searched around and found various threads and followed the advice therein, and nothing's worked. Both itunes applications are signed into the same account both in terms of store purchases and in terms of home network creation. I have done every possible permutation of starting out with difference sharing formats turned off or on. The problem remains: the laptop readily loads up the HTPC's itunes library, but the HTPC doesn't see the laptop's.
For diagnostic purposes, I booted up my roommate's desktop, running Windows 7. The laptop is also able to detect her itunes library, and her itunes installation see's the laptop's library -- but the Windows PC doesn't detect the HTPC's library as the laptop does. The HTPC sees neither library.
Anyone have anyone have any idea how to get it working so that the HTPC will see the laptop's shared library?
