Hi All,

I picked up my new 13" MacBook Pro 2.3GHz i3 on Friday at my local Apple Store. Really happy with it, but I've noticed a very strange noise.

In normal use the machine is pretty silent and causes no issues.

However, about 10-15 seconds after shutting down, I hear a grating noise coming from the hard drive. It sounds like something is scraping as the HD spins down. However, there is no noise when the machine boots up or in normal operation.

Should I take it back or have others experienced this? The HD is an Hitachi 320GB.

Thanks

Phil
