strange hostname

I have an iMac and a macbook. The problem I am having is that my macbook gets a strange hostname when I connect to the airport express. If I type 'hostname' into a terminal i get the following:

Unknown-00-1e-c2-b4-1b-33.BigPond

Has anyone had this before?

I have rebooted all computers and the airport, and removed the network connection and added it again.
