Strange Icons Appearing All over System, HELP.

OK, I don't quite know how to describe this but I have just noticed that icons are being replaced by generic stuff on OS X. I have attached files to show you what I mean. One shows these icons in µtorrent and the other shows the same ones in place of the stars in itunes context menu. Why is this happening? How can I fix? thanks.

Solved

OK, I Feel stupid. The fonts were turned off in fontbook. I don't recall turning any fonts off nor would I have expected that that would affect the GUI of itunes and other programs. Anyway it is fixed.
