I finally have my gmail account, Mail.app, and iPhone set up properly using IMAP.
Here's what I did:
In GMail, I disabled POP and enabled IMAP.
In Mail.app, I followed the gmail instructions for setting up an IMAP account in Apple Mail 3.0 for Leopard.
On my iPhone, I followed the gmail instructions for setting up an IMAP account using the "Other" tab instead of the "GMail" tab (I didn't want this to happen)

So, it seems that I followed all the instructions, and it seems like everything is working properly. EXCEPT:
When I send an email from my iPhone, it shows up in my 'Sent" folder on my Mail.app like it should, except when I click on that sent message, the body of the email is from an email I sent a long time ago. For example, I sent test emails this morning, and the address and subject lines are fine, but the body of the email is from an email I sent to someone else on January 6, 2008, or August 13, 2007, or November 17, 2007.

What is going on here? Are those old emails being resent? Anyone experience this or have any idea how to fix it?
