Update Below

My iPhone is old. 1st generation. Been through a lot.

A couple months ago the screen went dead. I got home, plugged it in and it was responsive but only to restore. So I tried a restore. I got an 1011 error (which I now know is hardware related)

With a bit of searching I discovered I could get try to get back to normal by entering DFU mode and using RedSn0w. It worked!

The issue has happened two more times and I did the same thing each time. Now the phone is dead again and I'm having an issue I can't get by

As I said, the screen is dead. Which means no touch or visibility until I get RedSn0w operational. Then everything works.

But RedSn0w requires the iPhone to be completely off and attached to my Mac. But I can't turn it off and have it connected. Even if I let the battery drain I would plug it in and the phone to turn on.

Is there an app for OSX that will turn off my iPhone?

UPDATE: I gave my iPhone a knock or two on the table and it seems to have worked. Looks like this is the last solution for my reoccurring problem.
