Strange issues with map

I've just downloaded the google maps for my iPod touch (jailbreak)

Whenever I try using the locater, it'll show me some area some odd 500 miles away.

Any help on this?

Uninstalled maps, reinstalled to see if that did anything.

Made things worse. Map no longer starts up.
