Hi,

today my Mavericks crashed while apparently sleeping. At least I put it to sleep before coming home, finding it an unresponsive state; displays were blank and I couldn't SSH in. So I hard-resetted.

Since then my trackpad isn't working properly anymore: the only thing I can do is move the cursor and click; no gestures, tap to click or secondary clicks!
Keyboard is working for the most part but also has some sporadic hiccups: pressing keys (mostly Opt-<letter> combinations) trigger volume ups/downs suddenly my displays get mirrored. Somethings obviously wrong but I cant't figure it out.

Already changed batteries, severals restarts and file system checks. No luck!

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Recovery partition is accessed by pressing CMD+R while booting.

As for backup, well you could try and external keyboard / mouse and try to backup to an external drive.

Ehm, not sure what you mean; isn't it a bit too late to make backups!?

Anyway I already reset my system...

Thanks anyway!
