I’m having a slightly different problem with the keyboard cover to my iPad Pro (the large sized iPad Pro; both were purchased this past May, so whatever was the current versions then) than I’ve seen others report. As always, I apologize if this has been discussed and I just didn’t find the conversation.

Since the upgrade to iOS 11, after the iPad Pro has not been in use for an hour or more (but is not shut off), the iPad stops accepting input from the keyboard cover when it’s connected. It’s not that it’s not recognizing the keyboard — the on-screen keyboard isn’t popping up; everything looks exactly like you’d expect when the keyboard is connected, it just doesn’t accept any keyboard input. Tapping any of the keys does nothing.

Disconnecting the keyboard causes the virtual keyboard to appear, which works as expected, reconnecting the keyboard causes the virtual keyboard to disappear, also as expected, but pressing keys does nothing.

I can power the device off and back on, and then keyboard will work again as expected...for a while. But then if I go an hour or more without using the iPad, the problem resurfaces and the whole frustrating loop repeats.

This never happened previous to upgrading to iOS 11. Given that and that the iPad is recognizing that the keyboard is connected, and given that it is consistently happening in the same way every time, and that rebooting the device temporarily solves it ever time, I feel like this is more likely an iOS 11 problem than a hardware problem.

Has anyone else observed this specific problem? Thoughts?
