Hi!
I am the proud owner of a 2009 Macbook Pro 15" 2.8ghz with some strange issues. One of these is a rather recent one, which is that some keys on the keyboard "stopped" working. Strange part is that most if not all of them do actually respond in certain ways by making icons like these: ~~, and sometimes they even type out letter combinations (Q for instance spells qw or qwlO when i press it and A spells asdf when i mash it). Its worth noting that a dedicated USB keyboard works just like it should
The previous owner (and I) have both been tinkering a bit on the insides replacing fans and RAM etc, but i doubt the keyboard issue occured in conjunction with this..
My question still remains though; Should I just try to replace it? Or do the symtoms sound like a motherboard issue?
The keys that don't work correctly: Capslock (toggle light doesn't light up either), Backspace, Q, A, Z and X
Its worth noting that it now uses a clean install of windows 10 temporarly.. (I couldn't install it correctly in the utility menu), but the keyboard issue is the same in the Mac os utility thingy
