Hi, this issue relates to a 2.16 C2D MBP. There are a few issues but I think that they are all related.
Firstly, when using the right shift key to make Caps the letters e d and c don't work - when using the left shift key the letters D and C work but e doesn't. I have tried checking with the Keyboard Viewer and the keys all work individually - it's just they don't work with certain combinations.
Secondly, using the Option key i can never get a boot menu to display - it'll boot straight into OS X - which makes Bootcamp a non starter and if anything ever happens to this OS X installation i don't know how I'd reinstall - or if my Vista installation fails on me how would i get back into Leopard?
The laptop used to have Tiger Server installed on it if that makes any difference. I would buy a new keyboard and see how that goes but don't really want to fork out yet as I'm not 100% it's a hardware issue.
