Hello, occasionally I see strange lines and dots on the screen. This morning, I saw this:

Know what is going on? Is this hardware or software issue?

After I used Skitch to capture the image on the scree, they disappeared.

1) Screen dying. 2) GPU dying. 3) Alien communication.

Either take it to an Apple repair centre or perform an exorcism, whichever takes your fancy.

When I took it to Apple half a year ago to check the battery life, they told me that this 2010 system is out of warranty. The only thing that they can do is to run a diagnosis and I am on my own.

Your computer is seven years old; it's not going to last forever. Things are eventually going to give out on it. I'd say the video card is on its way out, or you've got deteriorating solder joints related to the video signal. Get a heat source and reflow your board, see what happens. Google it if you don't know what I'm talking about.

Although I have it at home since 2010, I have used it for a total of about three years only as I got rMBP 2012 and rMBP 2014 at work abroad.
