Hey Guys,

I recently started having a strange issue with my MBP. Basically, the whole arm rest area is registering movements and causes the cursor to move when I'm typing something. It's as if the whole bottom case below the keyboard is one huge trackpad.

Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to remedy this. If I raise my arms, I have no issues typing... strange I know.

BTW, I have a MBP Core 2 Duo (non-unibody)

Thanks

I think I remember reading somewhere that it can be caused by your battery expanding.

Check that out and let us know. I can't quote where I saw it, but I believe I have read that somewhere.

Holy cr@p, you're right!

I took a look under and the battery had expanded (it looks pregnant lol!). The top cover was actually prying off slowly. Everything seems to working fine now that I removed the battery.

Thanks so much!

I'm glad you figured that out. Everyone says that Apple should replace the battery no matter what. I hope they would since it seems kind of dangerous.
