Due to my area I have to use satellite internet for my IP. Works great, no problems there. Due to my monthly data allowance I have Activity Monitor open on my other monitor all the time, to track usage or in this case ... unexpected large receipts of data.

I installed Yosemite 2am Friday. For the first time in 4 years of using Apple Mail I have had to stop large data receipts by closing Mail. I have only caught the activity while glancing at the Activity Monitor.

Tonight I didn't notice it until it had received ~800Mb. I later checked my IP providers site for data usage and it did pick up the additional ~800Mb. Saturday the same thing happened, just by glancing at Activity Monitor I caught large amounts of data being received into Mail.

I have my gmail accounts feeding into Apple Mail ... has always worked without any problems. I do not have anyone ever sending me attachments nor have I caught any large files in email received in my junk folders.

I cannot afford, due to my data limit, to let the data completely download to check to see what it might be. At this time I may have to stop using Apple Mail until I can figure something out or have someone here give me some help or ideas what might be happening.

Like I said, this has only happened twice and only since I installed Yosemite. Any ideas?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
