Strange MBP 17 inch keyboard issue

I find that nearly every time I put my screensaver password in, it doesnt type the first key I push. This happens nearly every single type I type this. No matter how hard I press the key it wont type the first letter (also tried other keys, same result).

It almost sounds like my keyboard is going to sleep or something and doesnt wake up until i push 2 keys?

It happens on PCs too. Only if you start typing the moment it turns back on, if you leave it for a few seconds everything gets going again and you have no issues. Don't know if its the same for the Macs though...
