This morning I downloaded an app "battery care" on my iPad. I think the app prompted me to sign into my iTunes account and provide some credit card details like the expiration date and the card security number on the back. I thought the request was strange since the app didn't cost anything, but I seem to have to sign in to other devices a lot more than I used to. When I rent videos on my ATV, I seem to get these request almost every time.
So, shortly after downloading and opening the app, I received an email wth the following verbiage...
"Your Apple ID, xxxxxx@xxxx.com, just used to download HotspotVPN from the App Store on a computer or device that has not been previously associated with the Apple ID.
If you do not do this download, you should open xxxxxx.apple.com to verify your account." XXX replaces my details of course.
I did NOT download "hotspotVPN" and because the message said it was downloaded on a device not associated with my Apple ID, I'm concerned. Should I be? I immediately changed my iTunes credit card and I have contacted Apple Support about this.
