Strange new icon, is this a virus/hack?

At some point today, a strange "Q" icon showed up in the far upper left hand corner of my iPhone when in Messages. I thought I saw it earlier in the Facebook App, but it's not there now, and I thought nothing of it at the time because I was viewing a picture of a friend and thought it was on the pic.

Screenshot is attached. Please let me know what you all think. Also, iPhone 4, iOS 4.1 (8B117), 32 GB. Never jailbroken or any other type of hack.

Did you try a restart? Looks like a simple software glitch.

Strange. Didn't even restart, but appears to be gone.
