I've had general banner/alert notification issues for a while. Most seem to be related to core Apple apps like Calendar, iTunes, App Store, etc. EDIT: Also, Airmail recently (see below)
Let me start with most recent (& strangest) issue: clicking Calendar banner notifications will open Script Editor. EDIT: Even better. Something similar just happened with an Airmail email notification (an alert) and, get this, it opened... GIF BREWERY 3.
Banners from apps sometimes act like alerts that need to be dismissed. But they're usually unable to be dismissed by swiping right on the trackpad (if I swipe right very slowly, it might work). Occasionally, multiple notification banners will appear to get entangled, like one banner is on top of another (when this happens, there's a translucent horizontal line on the bottom of the frontmost banner).
Sometimes, notifications don't show at all. iTunes song change notifications don't work anymore. There was no alert for a Calendar event I made for later in the day (it's in the Notification Center, but the banner didn't even show).
Any ideas? Need an EtreCheck? I'm almost certain it's a 3rd party app that caused this, but how can I figure out which one?
Is there a notification preferences file I can safely delete & then restart?
