Hey there. I recently received a strange file from a source, and I thought nothing of it, as it appeared to be a Windows virus/trojan. However, restarting the Mac, out came this PC connection, shown in this picture

notice the connection named 'thomson'.

How do I disconnect this shared connection, and remove it from my system?

best guess

hi, i noticed this also. i'm a bit of a newbie so i am not positive about my answer, but, i think you are seeing someone else on the same internet connection as you. i saw a couple of other users listed in my finder earlier, checked my airport and noticed i had connected using one of my neighbors wireless modems instead of mine. once i connected to my locked cable modem connection the other shared machines disappeared. i would guess you are on someone else's broadband, or your own is unsecured and someone is using it.
