I have a strange printing problem that I can't seem to find an exact match for anywhere. I've called Apple tech support and they are stumped as well.

Here's the background: Unibody MacBook Pro on which I did a clean install of 10.6 (disk utility, erased hard drive, installed 10.6, did NOT migrate apps and such back but rather reinstalled apps that I need and copied documents over). No third-party customizations, and only a few additional apps (CS4, adium, Parallels 4, CoRD)

Here's the problem: While at work (ethernet connection, static IP) I am unable to print from any pre-installed apps (mail, safari, preview, text edit, etc) unless I choose to open these apps in 32-bit mode. All other apps work fine (firefox, MS Office, Acrobat Pro, etc). I'm printing to a Dell 2330dn and a Xerox Phaser 8560dn. I get the print dialog box, but when I choose "Print" the dialog box freezes and I have to force-quit the app. Where it gets weird is while at home (wireless connection, DHCP), I can VPN into work, open up the problem apps in 64-bit mode and send a print job successfully to the Dell 2330 in my office. I can also print fine to my Brother MF440C at home.

I thought it might be a driver issue, but why can I print from home while VPN'd in to work using the same drivers? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated as this makes no sense to me and is driving me nuts! Thanks in advance!!
