Hi guys,

Since the last couple of days, I've had a strange problem with my desktop icons.

It seems that the position of the Hard drive icons is not saved correctly or is moved when I do a restart. (see Pics)

Also, if I put the icons back in their correct position and do a "Clean Up Selection" they get moved to the left again??

Any ideas what is going on??

TIA

/Bongolo

This is very common, and I know of no workaround for it--as far as I remember, it's existed in every version of OSX in one form or another.

I vaguely remember it having something to do with how OSX interprets the width of the label, but regardless, I think it's one of those "deal with it" things.

You could always try clearing off your desktop as this no doubt has to do with the files to the immediate left of the HD icons (when they're in the right place, that is).

You could also try snapping your icons to the grid or changing the placement of the labels.
