Strange rainbow circles in Mail

Hi all,

I was bored and began editing all of my dock icons yesterday. Now everything is fine except that my mail app has replaced the drop down arrows with rainbow circles and the background of emails is a tiled image.

Anyone know how I would go about fixing this?

attached is a picture.
