Strange Safari Issue

The keyboard becomes unresponsive at times - no extensions running in the background and auto correct turned off in system preferences. Any ideas?

I have recently reformatted and reinstalled 10.13 on themachine and this problem didn't occur before.

(PS running iMac 10.13.5 Late 2015 8gb RAM.)
