So my MacBookPros pretty old now. Came out of extended warranty last summer. For the past few months I've had this strange issue where the lower two thirds of the display will go gray and not display anything or flash on and off. The longer I keep the display open the better it gets till it sets back to normal. I've noticed that if I put pressure around the middle of the screen if fixes it while I press.

Since I was out of warranty I went ahead and opened it up. Didn't see any bad connections or the like but when I closed it back up everything was working great...for a few weeks. Then the issue slowly started coming back till it was just as bad. Tried doing the same thing, even taping down some connections to make sure they were solid but this time it only lasted a few days.

At this point Im just trying to get it to limp along the last few months of college. Anyone know what the source of this problem is? I think I've successfully narrowed it down to something in the display half of the case.

NB: I had the same exact problem while under warranty but the Apple people fixed it for me.
