Hi! I’ve got a MacBook Pro 15 inch 2018, with Mojave 10.14.6. The whole screen was replaced 6 months ago. I’ve now got the following problem:

In the morning - when I open my MacBook and wake it from sleeping – there are flickering grey lines at the bottom inch of the screen. Sometimes part of the bottom goes black and this part of the screen cannot be used. The strange thing is that when the screen turns black during switching the computer off, the bottom part suddenly and briefly displays the (previously invisible desktop bottom part.

After a few hours, my MacBook Pro usually slowly goes back to normal. At the end of the day, I never have problems.

What could be the cause?
  • Certainly not over-heating problems, as the problems disappear when the computer warms up.
  • Dust? My computer certainly might need cleaning, as I was told so half a year ago.
  • Shortage of memory? The 250GB HD is almost out of space. I already have the minimum on there, as I work a lot with large music and movie files.
Thanks for your help!
