Here's the thing, iOS 7.1 when I first tried it was blazing fast, best I've ever seen, but lately, there has been an issue, when I try to open any app, stock or third-party the little shaded thing waits on the app for like 3 secs then it opens, so I went ahead and updated to 7.1.1, the issue was fixed........ For like 10 mins, then broke again
Has anyone else been experiencing this, btw I have an iPhone 5S, so no, it's not cause I have an old device

What is your carrier name?

Wtf this makes no sense but ur right, when I put it on airplane mode, the laggg goes away, APPLE! FIX THIS!!!!

Spam here http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Also contact your carrier and other news websites like phonearena, 9to5mac, imore.com and etc. with title "Strange iOS 7.1.1 bug causes lag"...

I don't have this problem however I have reported to major news websites, maybe they will make topic about it.

Long carrier names in the status bar strangely have been linked to certain delays/lag on the phone in iOS 7.
That is very strange but its obviously a theory that rings true. I'm on O2 so that is about as short a carrier name as you can get, therefore I have experienced no lag at all. Bizarre. :)

I have the same problem, still no solution.

My carrier name is also quite large. I have reported the problem to apple feedback page.

You can fix it by turning off 3G or wifi( reducing the length of that area), not a solution tho, but I thought u might wanna know, you can also change ur carrier name or logo (Google it) no need for a jailbreak

I tried everything mentioned on this forum with no success. My carrier's name can't even fit on the whole status bar.

There was a way to change carrier's name in iOS 6 but this does no longer work on iOS 7.

As karstas said, i think it would be better to contact popular tech websites to report this problem. Through this way, apple may find out about the bug and fix it.
