Hi guys,

I've recently setup my new MBP, which has 1tb storage. But strangely, I've already used up 440gb.

I checked the settings and this shows that my documents take up 150gb. After further investigation, I noticed that some of the films and apps which are on my Apple TV or I've bought for my phone, are showing under the following file paths:

my name / music / iTunes / iTunes / iTunes Media / Movies / Film Name

or

my name / music / iTunes / iTunes / iTunes Media / Mobile Applications / Name of App

I thought if I bought anything on iTunes, it should remain on the cloud.

Have I messed up something when setting up?

Thank you. Do I turn this off on the new Mac or my Apple tv?

And how do I delete the films and apps from my Mac to free up storage without losing them on apple tv and elsewhere?

I just checked the settings on both Music and Apple TV and automatic downloads is off on both, so really baffled as to why all the apps and films have downloaded. And other than in Storage, I can't find these films or apps anywhere on the Mac. So confused!

My iTunes / Music folders also seem wrong. Should I have a Folder labelled iTunes? Or should it just be Music?

Right, I think I've sorted some of the mess out.

I deleted all the Movies and mobile apps from Settings / General / Storage / Documents

I now have a total of 15 random documents remaining, which should total around 2.5gb, HOWEVER, the document size is showing as 25.28 there. Any ideas why this could be? My actual Home Document folder has one file in there totally 112kb, so it's not that causing the 25.28gb.
