Strange touchscreen issue

Hi, new here. I was hoping someone could help me with my iphone 5 touchscreen issue.
It works for about 5 minutes then starts to become unresponsive. I keep giving up on it and then get it out to sell as broken, turn it on and it starts working perfectly again.

If it was a hardware issue would it not either work or not work (intermittently or not)?

I would think so, have you tried a restore? If it is a software issue this should fix it

Thanks for the reply. Yes ive tried that but ill give it another go.

In that case, it must be a hardware issue. Best bet would be taking it in for Apple to have a look.

Has the device been opened up for repair before? I have to agree with others and if it starts working again after rebooting, it is likely a hardware problem. Apple should be able to diagnose.
