I don't know what forum to post this in. In my home I have
2 MacBook Pro's (Early 2011)
1 MacBook white (Early 2008)
2 PC's
All the macs running Safari or Firefox get a "page not found" average every 60 minutes or so. The PC's never do this and work fine. The Airport indicator on the macs show that the Wi-Fi signal is still there but the browsers and email just won't work. My remedy is to toggle the Airport off for a few seconds then turn it back on. This always reconnects the macs for another hour or so.
This only happens at my home. The macs can be elsewhere and work fine. We are using AT&T ADSL service in our house. Tried configuring both WEP & WPA security.
The logical conclusion would by that my DSL Modem/Router does not like macs so I swapped out the 2Wire Gateway 2701HG that AT&T provided and replaced it with a Zoom 5697-00-00F Modem/Router. Still have the same problem though - the Macs in my house lose connectivity but the Airport says the Wi-Fi signal is there.
I don't recall seeing this issue until I upgraded from 10.6.6 to OSX 10.6.7 (I think) Right now I'm on 10.6.8. I've researched this thoroughly here on the boards and other people have similar issues but I'm having trouble piecing together some of the technical advice they recommend to remedy this.
I hope somebody can help as this is annoying. I don't want to call anyone because there are just too many components involved in this problem and experience tells me they'll all just blame each others service/equipment.
