Strange Wifi behavior iPhone 5

If I try to connect to a wifi-network and they have a splash page to agree to T&C, the page will not load properly, most likely not be found in case it uses a private ip-range.

But...if I go into flight mode and enable only wifi then I can connect to the splash page without any problems. It looks like it tries to route the splash page request through 3G instead of the wifi-connection in the first case.

I have tried to reset network connections but to no avail.

Anyone else have this problem?

Hold down the power button for 3 seconds then without letting go hold the home button together for 15 seconds then release the power button hold the home button for another 5 seconds
