Strange wireless Problem

I recently installed a HP wireless printer on my network, i then installed the drivers in my macbook. when i use the HP utility I can print a test page, but when i try to print a Word Doc. to the printer it times out and says the printer is busy. it looks to me like it is trying to send to the wrong port?? but i am not sure. Any Ideas?
