I posted the following to Apple's support forums and a moderator removed it saying it was inapproriate. Gees... touchy. Anyway, if any of you have any feedback, I'd appreciate it--assuming of course that it doesn't offend anyone.
-----------------------------
My one major complaint about OS X over the years has been how mediocre the networking is. Apple has addressed a lot of it in the last couple versions of OS X, but Leopard still disconnect from network shares a lot more frequently than it should. I have an Applescript that I run once an hour that reconnects me to all my network shares, but it's still not nearly as reliable as it should be and it seems that, from time-to-time, there will be one network share that will cause the Applescript to lock up... which in turn causes the Finder to go into the spinning ball of death mode. This is such a frustration.
Sorry for the rant, but I wanted to illustrate my overall complaint and then ask what kind of strategies or suggestions any of you have for keeping a Mac connected to network shares. There has to be a better way to do this.
