Forgive me if this is a repeated question--I can't find this specific question asked answered in forums.

I am thinking about buying a large (1TB) wireless network drive to store all my music on.

I am also thinking of plugging my stereo into an Airport Express.

Is it possible for me to be:

1) Connected to the internet;
2) Have my PC laptop's iTunes pointed to the library on the wireless drive wirelessly (which is presumably connected to my router?);
3) Choose a song on the wireless drive and play it;
4) Beam the song back to my airport express and my stereo?

I've heard that you cannot both be mounted to your external wireless drive while simultaneously being connected to the network you've created between your stereo/airport and laptop. This doesn't make much sense to me, but I'm a bit lost on the issue.

Or:

Does my airport express need to be HARDWIRED via ethernet cable to the router? Or do I need to physically connect the wireless drive to the airport express?

I see plenty of users mounting a network hard drive from afar and playing their music on their computer, but none specifically saying they're simultaneously streaming that music to an airport express.

Any insight would be welcome. I am going hard ware shopping this weekend and want to make sure I'm buying the right equipment.

Any help?

Thanks!

B.
