Hi

I use a Mac Mini G4 1.25GHz with 1Gb RAM, and whenever I try and play HD videos streamed over the internet they never play smoothly, but very choppily. E.g HD Youtube video. Please help, why wont they play smoothly?

How old is this machine? If it's more than a couple years old it might not be able to handle HD-quality video, but I could be wrong. Does it play regular Youtube videos well? Does it do the same for non-streamed HD video (i.e. playing the video from your hard drive)? Try downloading some sample Quicktime movies and playing them at several resolutions and see how they perform.

Edit: I found this article, but that refers to the 3rd-generation Mini and it looks like you have the first.

The G4 processor more than likely does not have enough power to run HD video. I use to have a G4 that did not have enough power to play HD right off the harddrive, so its a hardware issue.
