My Seas0nPass ATV2 is connected via Ethernet port on a secondary "Time Capsule" on my LAN to use the HDD in the "Time Capsule" for converted media. I've used XBMC on my aTV2 to access the same m4v's in iTunes via SMB. Yet these m4v's are downscaled to 2-channel audio. Seems to be an issue with XBMC that many can't resolve (read through every thread on XBMC w/ no fix). Perhaps it is defaulting to the AAC stereo layer or maybe a nitrate streaming issue w/audio?
I've spent MONTHS reading forums on XBMC, RipDifferent, RipIt, "Mac the Ripper 4.0", Handbrake, and have tried optical audio with HDMI from the aTV2 as well as dozens of other configurations. I have my aTV2 via HDMI to my Pioneer VSX-33 which handles AC3 Passthru/DDII/MCAAC/you name it. I really want to use the HDD on the "Time Capsule" as having iTunes on a local Mac for streaming is a PITA.
Thanks so much for any help!
