Hi guys, new to the board. I've been searching around for the easiest/best way to stream audio for my apple listeners. I'm not really looking to use quick time streaming server or anything of that nature. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Try NiceCast from Rogue Amoeba (http://rogueamoeba.com/nicecast/). All their software, like Audio Hijack is pretty damn fine and useful.

That looks pretty sweet! I have to admit though It may be to much trouble though for what I'm looking to do. I just need to stream a few songs here and there. No Radio station at this point. Thanks :) I currently use Active X for my PC users. The .m3u's don't stream properly with IE for Apple though.

ChicoWeb you must have ESP(N). I was actually just going to post a new thread on the exact same topic. My situation is this... A friend of mine is a small time artist looking to make it big, he's asked me to put together a website for him, I've slapped together something for him in about 5 minutes.

What I'm looking for is 2 fold, something that he can easily use to upload new singles and freestyle tracks. And something that would allow people/record execs to listen to his music without saving his songs and sharing them on Kazaa.

Has anyone used anything (preferably open source) that have this type of functionality. If not does anyone have any ideas regarding the best way for me to accomplish this. I think that the 2nd portion is more important than the first.

Thanks,
Dave

Yeah, I think flash is a great way to go, but its not very dynamic. Flash seems to be the only cross platform "easy" solution at the moment. But I really don't want to use it. Right now I'm streaming to the 95% PC users using Active X. Its super easy to do. The only thing is Apple does not support Active X and as a Apple user, I'm not satisfied with just PC users being able to listen. So i'm looking for something similar to place below the player for apple users.
