Streaming from my rMBP

I would like to know please, whats the best way to stream media into my tv?

Option 1# -
using a HDMI cable from tv directly to the MBP.

Option 2# -
using a Apple TV device with Airplay mirroring.
(btw, does in runs smooth with 1080p movies?)

and if there is another option i'd like to know

Probably the HDMI cable route. At least, it should be the most stable and reliable.

For airplay, the quality will depend on the strength of your router, not so much your computer.
