I wasn't sure where to post this so sorry if this is the wrong spot. Anyways, my brother is going off to college in about a month now and asked if he could take a lot of our DVD's to his dorm with him. This got me thinking on how I could use his old Windows Vista PC as a "media server" so we can both stream our DVD/Music/Photo collections from anywhere we want. I've been looking at Plex but I want to make sure it works for my needs before I commit a lot of time to burning our DVD collection or does anyone recommend a program besides Plex? Thanks!

Before you go and try and set everything up, have you checked that your home internet connection has a fast enough upload speed (not download)?

Plex should do what you want though, take a look at this guide.

Just checked my internet speed and I have 4.8mbps Upload. Do you think that will work?
