So, I'm watching an episode of family guy as a divx movie on my airdisk. It's fine up until about 70% into it (and it varies at different times, sometimes it makes it all the way through) and then it stops and sputters. All of a sudden, my finder process cranks up and so do the fans. I cannot transfer anything on or off the airdisk in the finder when this is going on, and what i CAN transfer (read or write) moves painfully slow. There does not seem to be any activity on the disk itself. It seems to only break when watching movies (all my movies/shows are divx).
Furthermore, while this is happening, I am able to transfer files at full speed on my windows machine to and from the airdisk - so obviously my issue with airdisk is related to leopard's finder and not my base station. I had no problems in tiger.
If I unmount and remount the airdisk, it works fine again. Rather annoying. Praying this is fixed in 10.5.2 or I'm going back to tiger. Firmware is 7.2.1.
Can anyone else confirm something like this? I'm sort of relieved it's a software issue and not a hardware issue. Web access is still quick and a speed test still shows my normal download/upload rate. Thanks.
BTW - I am on 802.11n-only in 5ghz mode (and 10 feet from the base) so this is not interference!
