I have a MacBook pro laptop where I do most of my work, and a older G5 iMac which is hooked up to my desktop speakers. What i want to is to be able to stream sound from my laptop though my desktop speakers. The two computers are already connected though a network.

does anybody have any idea how I could go about doing this or whether it is even possible?

Thank you very much

Hi,

what about sharing your iTunes library (on the MBP)? Play your shared library on the G5 through the speakers. Done.

Hope this works for you.

Airfoil does what you want. Run 'Airfoil speakers' on the desktop, and 'Airfoil' on the laptop, and you can stream from one to another.

Or you can stream directly from iTunes to 'Airfoil speakers'.

Only slight down side is that you'll get a delay of around a second or so...
