I've tried software such as Eyeconnect and have managed to stream movie and media files from my Macbook Pro hard disk to my PS3, but what I'd like to do is to be able to stream video from websites and services such as Hulu directly to my tv, via my PS3. Can this be done without additional hardware?

Just out of curiosity, why the need for the PS3 in between, if you access web content via your MacBook?

I don't know of any tv's that allow content to be streamed to them directly without some sort of middleman, in this case the PS3. To the OP, I don't know of any way to do what you ask.

You could get a mini display port to HDMI adapter and plug your MBP straight into the TV.

EDIT: right, for Hulu and other things like that need something else.

i think you can access hulu from the ps3 webbrowser.. unless you want to use a proxy to access it which i don't know how to. Streaming Hulu is i believe that not possible however you can stream your music or pictures to the ps3 via apps that like medialink (20$) http://www.nullriver.com/products/medialink I have been using it for a few months and am very satisfied with its performance you can also stream your itunes movies to the ps3
